DIY-er and single mom, Michelle, is no ordinary mom. When she moved into her home with her four children, she decides to reinvent her living room into a family game room. But not just any game room would do.
Michelle’s idea of a game room included a rectangular trampoline, a basketball hoop, and dart board. With three boys in the family, the wear and tear of the family game room soon became very visible.
Over time, the other brand’s latex paint did not stand up to the wear and tear of the game room. The trampoline’s safety pole rubbed against the living room wall and this resulted in the other brand’s paint peeling off.
As well, the wall that held the basketball hoop began showing the “missed shots” along with dirty hand prints.
On the adjacent wall, the darts that missed the bull’s eye and landed on the wall became more visible.
Over time, the wear and tear of the game room prompted Michelle to repaint the walls.
After enlisting the advice from the friendly professionals at Santa Barbara Paint Depot, Michelle painted her new game room with Benjamin Moore® ULTRA SPEC® SCUFF-X® INTERIOR LATEX. The scuff-resistant formula was a perfect choice for Michelle’s game room and the busy activities that go along with having three boys.
While she hasn’t shared the secret resistance of the Ultra Spec Scuff-X Interior Latex with the boys, she knows the formula is the right choice for keeping her game room walls scuff-free!
After choosing the right type of Benjamin Moore Paint, Michelle and the boys enlisted Santa Barbara Paint Depot in choosing the perfect paint color and sheen.
Michelle and her boys agreed they liked the milk chocolate color of the existing game room and wanted something similar.
Michelle tested Benjamin Moore’s Indian River-985 on several areas of the wall (see the blog, Ask Us How a $6.50 Sample of Paint Can Save Money and Disappointment) but found the color a bit too grey. Art Prado suggested Michelle use Benjamin Moore’s Hillsborough Beige-1033 in eggshell. It was a perfect fit!
A bit of water damage to the ceiling needed to be covered, and the professionals at Santa Barbara Paint Depot advised the use of ULTRA SPEC® 500 — INTERIOR PAINT in a flat sheen. ULTRA SPEC® 500 — INTERIOR PAINT dries quickly, has a low odor, is spatter resistant, washes up with soap and water, and is great for touch ups!
Now that the paint has been applied, Michelle and the kids look forward to many more hours of play fun thanks to the help of Benjamin Moore paint products and Santa Barbara Paint Depot.
