When owners Marco and Erika of ME Sabor Dance Studio in Santa Barbara needed to refresh the wall of their three-room studio, they turned to Santa Barbara Paint Depot for help.
The owners of the acclaimed dance studio at 810 E. Gutierrez St Suite A offers Salsa, Bachata, Cumbia, and Merengue dance lessons to all levels of dancers. When they had to shut down the dance studio due to the pandemic, Marco and Erika began teaching lessons over Zoom and worked with the City to teach at Oak Park.
The Hope of Re-Opening the Studio and the Desire to Expand Created a Painting Need
Marco and Erika opened ME Sabor Dance Studio in July of 2018. As owners, directors and teachers, the couple found a desire and interest from the community to expand. The current three-room studio needed to paint the new interior walls to match the existing colors of the original walls.
Santa Barbara Paint Depot to the Rescue!
Let’s go back a few years when Art Prado, one of the owners of Santa Barbara Paint Depot took salsa lessons.
Art’s passion for dance is something many people might not know about. The truth is the man behind the counter who can answer all your paint and stain needs can also spice things up on the dance floor.
So when Art heard Me Sabor Dance Studio needed to be repainted, he got in contact with Marco and offered his professional services.
Art customized the navy color of the existing wall with Benjamin Moore® SCUFF-X® Interior latex in eggshell and also provided an off-white accent color to complete the job.
A Community Effort Between Two Santa Barbara Business Owners
Marco and Erika are thrilled with the outpouring of help Art and Santa Barbara Paint Depot provided. “We were not expecting the help we received,” comments Marco. “We are working so hard for the community, so when the community comes through to you, you know you are doing a good job.”
For Art, reaching out and offering to customize the colors and pick the paint was just an average day at the office. “Santa Barbara Paint Depot likes to support our community anyway we can,” says Art. “They gave me dance lessons, and I simply returned the favor. May there be more community support for everyone.”
