When Carlos Cuellar, Santa Barbara artist extraordinaire, tagged Santa Barbara Paint Depot on our Facebook page, we were thrilled to see his use of Benjamin Moore’s paint in his work!

Carlos has 30 years of experience decorating murals and walls and has received many compliments for his artistic work.

His work has been featured in many areas and locations, including murals at West Side Community Center, the Santa Barbara Municipal Airport, in Lompoc to honor Filipino Heritage (sponsored by the Santa Barbara art council under Mr. Patrick Davis), backdrops for events such as Los Lobos concert at Lobero Theater, in restaurants, and the Santa Barbara solstice celebration under the direction of former director, Claudia Bratton.

An Artist Inspired by Santa Barbara’s Beauty

Inspired by Santa Barbara’s sunrise, sunset, and walls around town, Carlos chooses paint with bright, vibrant colors. He works with the five primary colors to create his masterpieces.

Benjamin Moore’s quality, colors, and durability inspire Carlos to create works of art around town and in his studio, Carlos Cuellar’s Studio, at 331 N. Alisos.

One of Carlos’ art techniques is to leave the cans of paint open for days to achieve a perfect color and consistency. Mixing colors and blending tones on canvases and walls is the secret to the beautiful works of art people all over the world enjoy.

“A couple of weeks ago,” Carlos shared, “I got an interview with this art agent from LA who came to my studio to check out my art. He represents artists who do work for Nike and Adidas, among other stores around the USA. I’m waiting to hear from him, but I’m happy in paradise.”
